Our bedroom is never clean, which is part of the reason why I’ve yet to post any pictures of it. But, since Nate and De were watching our pooches this weekend while we were in Lincoln for Phase 2 of my parent’s kitchen renovation, we decided to clean up the house for them.

So, since our bedroom is in somewhat presentable shape, here it is…

It’s still a work-in-progress. Daniel is in the process of building a shelving unit to replace these cheap-o plastic drawers he’s had since college.

Remember this 3-drawer dresser? Well, after we fixed it up, we decided I would use it as my bedside table, and extra storage for my clothes. Oh, and I picked up a clearance basket from West Elm to hold all of the shoes that wouldn’t fit in the closet.

When we moved in, the closet doors in our bathroom were in bad shape, so instead of replacing them, we removed them completely and replaced the doors with these delicate West Elm curtains (again, bought on clearance!)

Since our bed is directly under the window, we decided that instead of covering a portion of the window with a headboard, we would use curtains as a faux-headboard.

This chest of drawers was our first renovation project, while we were still living in a one bedroom apartment. Daniel did all of the sanding and staining out on our tiny little deck.

Probably my favorite thing about our room is the West Elm zebra print rug that I got for $40!

So, that’s our bedroom! We still have quite a bit of work to do, but it’s coming along.
