So…..our neighborhood has it’s very own rapist. Awesome, right?

Um, no.

Well, after fretting all night long, biting off the tiny bit of nails I’d actually managed to grow, and whining to the hubs about my fears, we made a trip to Home Depot for brighter lights for the porch and deck. Now, I know that lights don’t exactly seem like a huge step to take for my safety, but it’s been proven that when the exterior of your house is well-lit, it makes criminals think twice about approaching your home. I mean, if you were some kind of criminal mastermind, would you want to venture into a super well-lit area where people could possibly see your face? Probably not.

So, we switched out our front porch light….from a crappy 60 watt bulb to a super bright halogen one….

Super bright halogen light action!

We also changed our back porch light from a 60 watt bulb to a 100 watt bulb and we have two very vicious pups who are ready and willing to fight for their parents!

Lean, mean Canine Machines!

I am also being extra vigilant when I put the dogs out and when I leave the house in the evening. So yes, still freaked out a bit, but we’re doing everything we need to do to keep us safe.

I’ll keep you guys updated on the status of this crazy raper man. We are hoping and praying (a lot!) that he is caught soon. Women all over Waldo are pretty nervous. We saw our neighbors across the street installing a motion detector light when we were installing ours. It’s craziness. I’ve never experienced anything like this. So scary. But we carry on, right?
