Minnie is “technically” not allowed on our couch. But she hairs it up all the same!

When we first got Clay, he was given a designated chair to sleep in. That worked fine for him during the day but inevitably, he’d stretch out on the couch when we were gone or through the night. Couldn’t blame him for finding a more comfy spot, haha! (Plus it was hard not to laugh when he’d snap to attention with his tongue dangling out of his mouth, knowing plenty well he wasn’t supposed to be up there).

His face seems to be saying ‘my couch’! I know that look well.

I love the “technically” part. Ray is “technically” not allowed on the sofa either and actually had only been on it quite some time ago. Our puppy class teacher suggested we teach him to get on the sofa when allowed and to teach him get off with a treat. Now he jumps on the sofa at will and is not so much with the getting down part. :-/

That is what we are trying to do – only allow him up when we ask him to come up – but
because I am a huge softie and can’t resist his charmsfor some reason he doesn’t seem to care if we ask him up or not – he just goes for it.April 25, 2012 at 11:32 AM

We used to have a no dogs on the furniture rule too. It then turned into a “dog only on the furniture when invited” rule. Which has permanently become “dog on furniture whenever she pleases” rule. Oh well!

Love the nest!!! Knox used to nest too… you’d think they were birds perched up high

That’s so cute! I can’t resist Zoe and let her on all our furniture (which she has definitely partially destroyed). Sigh.
